Guardian of Paradise is a fun little Zelda-ish game by Buster, who you may know as having created Akuji the Demon. GoP casts you as Tela, a boy whose sister has fallen ill.

Nobody knows what´s wrong with her, so there seems to be no cure, but legends tell of healing waters in Paradise, so Tela sets out to find the fabled land and save his sister. He encounters elemental spirits along the way, which provide magic, and the basis for the game´s puzzle system.

Dudes, I hate the guy who developed the first Zelda game. I mean it. I'd like to put him in a cage and throw the key in the middle of the Pacific Ocean (can Shigeru Miyamoto swim?). Of course, not until making him play Guardian Of Paradise for at least an hour and a half. Enough punishment, I swear it!

Ok, it's not like that, but you will be more interested on this review after creating some controversy. Whad are you muttering? That I make better reviews to games like "Alice Greenfingers" or "Chocolate Castle" because I'm Plimus affiliate? How you dare, you bastard? He, he...

Buster (also from Akuji The Demon) brought us that Guardian Of Paradise after a lot of work and surely trying to show us that the Zelda-ish games aren't dead. And he did a nice job. GoP has a lot of good things in its favour. A REALLY nice pixel art graphics, a quite good background music, a lot of puzzles... If you liked Zelda, you will love this game. It dosen't introduce so many features to these type of games but at least has some interesting mechanics.

Spirits are the main point in favour so any of them gives you some specific powers. To change from one spirit to another, you will have to manage to kill enemies from that kind of spirit and collect the coins they will scatter. "So what?". You'll be thinking right now. Well, the developer has created a lot of tricky puzzles using it.

So, for everyone who loves stabbing slugs and getting pissed off due to a corridor filled up with gigantic flowers trying to bite your ass: get Guardian Of Paradise and play it! You won't be dissapointed. It will give you what you're searching.

The story begins with Tela, a young adventurer whose little sister is ill in bed. No one can heal her. Then, let's go and ask the old wiseman of the village who lives with their young and atractive grand-daughters (no pederasts jokes allowed, please). And so, Tela discovers how to finish with the illness of his sister: the waters of a place called Paradise! Pack your stuff and get ready for the trip, man! If I were him I'd have rather phoned Doctor House. He would have been taking the piss out of me for 40 minutes, but I wouldn't have had to go to the end of the world on foot...

And that's all folks! I'm off to take a butcher's knife and go walking around the neighborhood kicking dogs so that they give me coins, stabbing bushes trying to find a roasted beef on its inside... I'll put on my cloak, I think it's raining and I haven't found the talking-onion that makes me control the weather yet... Take it easy!
